General Information
Description of ServiceProvides a variety of healthcare and health education services to help low-income individuals and families prevent illness and maintain good health, understand health needs, plan for health care, learn good health practice, and use community resources. Offers immunizations and tuberculosis skin tests at all public health centers. Sexually transmitted disease (STD) screening and tests are available at the Central, North Coastal, and South Region Public Health Centers. HIV testing is available at the Central, Region Public Health Centers. Provides public health nurses to promote and preserve health, with a focus on maternal and child health issues and on communicable disease control. Services may be provided in the home or in a clinic. Public health nurses are BSN-registered nurses with course work in community health.

Intake ProcedureCall for information and appointment; some services available on a walk-in basis. No appointment is needed for flu vaccine. Flu vaccine is available on walk in basis Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 8-11 am and 1-4 pm, also Thursday from 1-4 pm.

Please note that currently, due to shipping delays, the Center has a limited selection of flu vaccines. Please call the Center at 619-441-6500 before going to verify availability.
