Interfaith Community Services

General Information
Description of AgencyAs participation grew, Interfaith evolved into a broad continuum of programs and services that provide the tools and resources people in crisis need to stabilize and rebuild their lives. These programs are organized into five main areas:

Nutrition and Basic Needs
Self-Sufficiency and Supportive Services
Behavioral Health and Recovery

Programs are designed to overlap so that each client has access to as many resources as necessary for his or her individual situation.
Interfaith offers programs through North San Diego County, from the coastal City of Oceanside, to the inland communities south and east of our Escondido headquarters. With more than 300 member faith centers and 130 dedicated staff, Interfaith serviced more that 16,000 unique individuals in 2016.
MissionTo empower people in need to stabilize and improve their lives through comprehensive programs, in partnership with diverse faith communities and people of compassion.
HistoryFounded in 1979 by a handful of diverse faith communities to address the needs of low-income, homeless and under-served people in North San Diego County. Separately, these congregations were providing relief to people in need, but by creating Interfaith they were able to collaborate to make a bigger impact on the needs of the people in the community.
