General Information
Description of Service:
Healthy Families is low cost health, dental and vision coverage for children up to age 19.
Urgent Services Provided:
Provides health, dental and vision coverage to children who have not had insurance through someone’s job within the last 3 months and who do not qualify for nor is enrolled in no cost Medi-Cal.

• Proof of income. • Proof of citizenship or immigration. • Proof of child daycare expenses. • Proof of disabled dependent care expenses. • Proof of any child support or alimony either paid or received.

Eligibility:
• Children up to their 19th birthday; and • Children in the family without employer-sponsored health insurance in the last three months; and • Children living in California; and • Children who are not eligible for nor enrolled in no-cost Medi-Cal; and • Children who meet citizenship or immigration rules; and • Children in families with incomes within the Healthy Families Guidelines; and • Children born to mothers enrolled in the Access for Infants and Mothers (AIM) Program, who are not enrolled in the no-cost full scope Medi-Cal Program or employer-sponsored health insurance.

Sliding Scale fees.
Fee Amounts:
Monthly premiums determined by income category, which includes family size, family income, and the health plan you choose. You pay a monthly premium between $4 and $24 per month for each child, up to a maximum of $72 per month for all enrolled children.
